POEM: in my own skin

Not sure
I can
write myself
thru this
ordeal
perhaps
this one
may finally
be too much
too hard
for even
the most
poignant
heartbreaking
gut wrenching
words
to express
to empty
to help me
find comfort
or solace
or peace
in my own
skin
again

sometimes
the main character in a story
cannot see what is beyond...

she is too deep, in it.

but the reader
sometimes
can see
what might be hidden from her...

i can tell you
that although the days will be difficult
they will not be difficult forever, Kayleigh.

one day, you will declare:
i feel it. i am healing. i am better than yesterday.

pages will turn, suns will set
and then rise on a new chapter...
and you will find yourself wiser, fuller, happy.

if these sentiments
cause a single ohm or ampere of energy
that you can use to feeeeel better, then
you are getting better.

you are already healing.

we love you, Kayleigh~

Thank you Chuck...you have this wonderful way of using writing as a metaphor for life that I so appreciate. It speaks to me on that certain unique level and makes sense out of the senseless.

Always a comfort.
